Taxonomy
Lichnophthalmus pulcher was named by Petrunkevitch (1949). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 39772 and is an impression. Its type locality is Phoenix Brickworks, Crawcrook (BMNH coll), which is in a Westphalian B delta plain shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Lichnophthalmus.
It was recombined as Eoscorpius pulcher by Kjellesvig-Waering (1986), Dunlop et al. (2013).
