Benniescorpio tuberculatus

Taxonomy
Eoscorpius tuberculatus was named by Peach (1883). Its type specimen is GSE 9675 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Blair Point, Dysart, which is in a Westphalian A terrestrial shale in the Lower Coal Measures Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Archaeoctonus tuberculatus by Pocock (1911) and Petrunkevitch (1949); it was recombined as Alloscorpius tuberculatus by Petrunkevitch (1953); it was recombined as Benniescorpio tuberculatus by Wills (1960), Kjellesvig-Waering (1986) and Dunlop et al. (2013).
