Taxonomy
Waterstonia brachistodactyla was named by Kjellesvig-Waering (1986). Its type specimen is RSM 1978.5.1, a set of appendages, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crookhill near Beith, which is in a Pendleian terrestrial shale in the United Kingdom.
