Branchioscorpio richardsoni
Taxonomy
Branchioscorpio richardsoni was named by Kjellesvig-Waering (1986). Its type specimen is FMNH PE 6176, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cottonwood Canyon (FMNH excavation), which is in a Lochkovian estuary/bay siliciclastic in the Beartooth Butte Formation of Wyoming. It is the type species of Branchioscorpio.
