Taxonomy
Sahitisuchus fluminensis was named by Kellner et al. (2014). Its type specimen is MCT 1730-R, a partial skeleton (Almost complete skull and lower jaw, proatlas, intercentrum, the axis and the 3rd cervical vertebra), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is São José Farm, which is in a Paleocene/Eocene fissure fill limestone in Brazil. It is the type species of Sahitisuchus.
