Taxonomy
Ameticos scolos was named by Garwood et al. (2011). Its type specimen is MNHN-SOT 076167, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Montceau-les-Mines (Sotty MNHN/MHNA coll), which is in a Stephanian B deltaic mudstone in France. It is the type species of Ameticos.
