Archelon marshii
Taxonomy
Archelon marshii was named by Wieland (1900). Its type specimen is YPM 294, a set of postcrania, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is east side, Cheyenne River, which is in a Campanian marine horizon in the Pierre Shale Formation of South Dakota.
It was recombined as Protostega marshii by Wieland (1909).
