Taxonomy
Boreortalis laesslei was named by Brodkorb (1954). Its type specimen is UF/PB 743, a limb element (right distal tibiotarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Thomas Farm, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Alachua Formation of Florida.
