Cyrtonyx tedfordi (quail)
Taxonomy
Cyrtonyx tedfordi was named by Miller (1952) [author states referral to genus is tentative]. Its type specimen is UCMP 42223, a limb element (right carpometacarpus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is L. A. Mus. no. V492, which is in a Barstovian lacustrine claystone/carbonate in the Barstow Formation of California.
