Taxonomy
Puffinus micraulax was named by Brodkorb (1963). Its type specimen is UF 4872, a limb element (left humerus, distal end), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hogtown Creek II, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in Florida.
