Taxonomy
Sula universitatis was named by Brodkorb (1963). Its type specimen is UF/PB 8505, a limb element (proximal end of left carpometacarpus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fraternity Row Creek, which is in the Miocene/Miocene of horizon Florida.
