Taxonomy
Agriocharis progenes was named by Brodkorb (1964). Its type specimen is UMMP 31034, a limb element (distal right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rexroad KU Locality 3, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
