Taxonomy
Archicarabides pater was named by Fritsch (1901). Its type specimen is NMP Me 36, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Nýřany (Insect Collection), which is in a Moscovian lacustrine siliciclastic in the Kladno Formation of the Czech Republic.
