Murchisonia (Hypergonia) fastigiata was named by Donald (1895). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Clattering Ford, 3 miles west of Bewcastle, which is in a Brigantian carbonate limestone in the Alston Formation of the United Kingdom.
