Taxonomy
Calciphilus abboti was named by Chamberlin (1949). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bonner quarry, Onyx Marble, which is in a Pliocene cave travertine in the Onyx Marble Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Calciphilus.
