Taxonomy
Scolopocryptops was named by Newport (1845). It is extant. It is the type genus of Scolopocryptopidae, Scolopocryptopinae.

It was assigned to Scolopocryptopinae by Edgecombe et al. (2012); and to Scolopocryptopidae by Riquelme and Hernández-Patricio (2018).
