Taxonomy
Kampecaris tuberculata was named by Brade-Birks (1923). Its type specimen is NHM In. 23803, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Dunure (BMNH collection), which is in an Emsian lacustrine siltstone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Palaeodesmus tuberculata by Wilson and Anderson (2004).
