Palaeosoma giganteum
Taxonomy
Acantherpestes giganteus was named by Baldwin (1911). Its type specimen is MM L9941 and is an impression. Its type locality is Sparth Bottoms, Rochdale (MM coll), which is in a Westphalian A delta plain shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Palaeosoma.
It was recombined as Palaeosoma giganteum by Jackson et al. (1919).
