Fortunguavis xiaotaizicus
Taxonomy
Fortunguavis xiaotaizicus was named by Wang et al. (2014). Its type specimen is IVPP V18631, a skeleton (nearly complete and articulated skeleton with feathers preserved on a slab), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xiao-tai-zi, La-ma-dong, Jianchang, which is in an Aptian lacustrine siltstone in the Jiufotang Formation of China. It is the type species of Fortunguavis.
