Spirifer (Paeckelmanella) was named by Likharev (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: C Step-u P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1,33]. It is the type subgenus of Paeckelmanellinae, Paeckelmanellidae.
It was corrected as Spirifer (Paeckelmannella) by Reed (1944); it was misspelled as Paeckelmannella by Jin and Sun (1981); it was reranked as Paeckelmanella by Sepkoski (2002), Williams et al. (2006).
It was assigned to Spirifer by Likharev (1934), Reed (1944); to Syringothyrididae by Jin and Sun (1981); to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paeckelmanellinae by Williams et al. (2006).
It was corrected as Spirifer (Paeckelmannella) by Reed (1944); it was misspelled as Paeckelmannella by Jin and Sun (1981); it was reranked as Paeckelmanella by Sepkoski (2002), Williams et al. (2006).
