Taxonomy
Protitan bellus was named by Granger and Gregory (1943). Its type specimen is AMNH 26104, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Irdin Manha Beds (1930 AMNH Eudinoceras site), which is in an Irdinmanhan terrestrial horizon in China.
