Taxonomy
Gemmarcula plattenwaldensis was named by Sulser and Friebe (2002). Its type specimen is P. 10318 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Plattenwald, which is in an Albian marine sandstone in the Garschella Formation of Austria.
