Taxonomy
Striispirifer was named by Cooper and Muir-Wood (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-m D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 24,25]. Its type is Delthyris niagarensis.

It was reranked as Eospirifer (Striispirifer) by McAllister (1974).

It was assigned to Eospirifer by McAllister (1974); to Spiriferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eospiriferinae by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Williams et al. (2006).
