Gyrophioceras praespiratissimum
Taxonomy
Arietites praespiratissimus was named by Wahner (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kammerköhr-Alpe, which is in an Angulata carbonate limestone in Austria. It is the type species of Gyrophioceras.
It was recombined as Gyrophioceras praespiratissimus by Spath (1924); it was recombined as Vermiceras (Gyrophioceras) praespiratissimum by Bloos (1994); it was recombined as Gyrophioceras praespiratissimum by Longridge et al. (2008).
