Retispira marcouianus

Taxonomy
Bellerophon marcouianus was named by Geinitz (1866). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nebraska City Section, Clay Pits southeast of Nebraska City, which is in a Virgilian marine shale in the Pillsbury Shale Formation of Nebraska.

It was recombined as Bucanopsis marcouiana by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Bucanopsis marcouana by Raymond (1911); it was recombined as Knightites (Retispira) marcouianus by Yochelson (1960); it was recombined as Retispira marcouianus by Wagner (2023).
