Taxonomy
Pseudorthoceras stonense was named by Gordon (1964). Its type specimen is USNM 119023, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 15062, Pleasant Grove, which is in an Arnsbergian marine shale in the Pitkin Formation of Arkansas.
