Taxonomy
Solenochilus floweri was named by Gordon (1964). Its type specimen is USNM 120192, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 17690, Hobbtown quarry, which is in a Moscovian marine siliciclastic in the Atoka Formation of Arkansas.
