Taxonomy

Lissatrypa was named by Twenhofel (1914). Its type is Atrypa obovata. It is the type genus of Lissatrypidae.

It was assigned to Lissatrypinae by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Musteikis and Modzalevskaya (2002); to Atrypida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lissatrypidae by Copper (1996), Williams et al. (2002).
