Priscosiren atlantica
Taxonomy
Priscosiren atlantica was named by Velez-Juarbe and Domning (2014). Its type specimen is USNM 542417, a partial skeleton (adult skull, missing distal part of rostrum; associated postcranium comprising thoracic 11–18, lum- bar 1–3, sacral 1, and caudal 1–4 vertebrae, chevron 2, righ), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACM Loc. 8060, Río Guatemala, which is in an Oligocene lagoonal conglomerate in the San Sebastian Formation of Puerto Rico. It is the type species of Priscosiren.
