Taxonomy

Holcothyris acuminata was named by Buckman (1917). Its type specimen is GSI Type No. 11756 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pangwoleng, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.

Synonyms

Holcothyris pinguis was named by Buckman (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bawgyo, left bank of R. Namtu opposite, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.

It was synonymized subjectively with Holcothyris acuminata by Yang and Shi (1987).
Holcothyris undulata was named by Buckman (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Se-In, which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in the Namyau Beds Formation of Myanmar.
