Taxonomy

Belemnites junceus was named by Phillips (1867).

It was recombined as Pseudohastites junceus by Lang (1928); it was recombined as Bairstowius junceus by Weis et al. (2015).

Synonyms

Pseudohastites arundineus was named by Lang (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH C.29026 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 110a, 16 feet from top of bed 110, Lower Darker Marl, Charmouth, which is in a Jamesoni offshore marl in the Belemnite Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Bairstowius junceus by Weis et al. (2015).
Hastites junceus was named by Phillips (1927).
