Hadrosia was named by Cooper (1983) [Sepkoski's age data: K Vala Sepkoski's reference number: 882]. Its type is Hadrosia convexa.

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Nerthebrochinae by Williams et al. (2006).
