Taxonomy
Pollicipes unguis was named by Sowerby (1836). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Scalpellum (Cretiscalpellum) unguis by Withers (1922); it was recombined as Cretiscalpellum unguis by Collins (1974), Buckeridge (1983), Carriol and Collins (2000).
