Taxonomy
Nuculavus arcuata was named by Kues (1991). Its type specimen is UNM 11230, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UNM 1320, Tularosa clay pit, which is in a Gzhelian marine shale in the Laborcita Formation of New Mexico.
