Magadina was named by Thomson (1915) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 538]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Anakinetica by Richardson (1987).

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Terebratellinae by Williams et al. (2006).
