Taxonomy
Pycnolepas industriosa was named by Jagt (2007). Its type specimen is NHMM 2003 015/1, an other, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altembroeck, Interval 4 [Vijlen Mbr, Gulpen Fm], which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate chalk in the Gulpen Formation of Belgium.
