Neoliothyrina was named as a genus. It is not extant. Its type is Neoliothyrina obesa.

It was reranked as Terebratula (Neoliothyrina) by Sahni (1960).

It was assigned to Terebratula by Sahni (1960); to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rectithyridinae by Williams et al. (2006).
