Taxonomy

Aniabrochus was named by Cooper (1983) [Sepkoski's age data: ]. Its type is Platythyris comptonensis. It is the type genus of Aniabrochinae.

It was assigned to Platythyridinae by Cooper (1983); to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aniabrochinae by Williams et al. (2006).

Synonyms

Platythyris was named by Middlemiss (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr K Sn Sepkoski's reference number: 1097]. Its type is Platythyris comptonensis.

It was replaced with Aniabrochus by Cooper (1983), Williams et al. (2006).

It was assigned to Terebratulida by Sepkoski (2002).
