Taxonomy
Centroscymnus schaubi was named by Casier (1958). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bissex Hill, which is in a Priabonian marine siltstone in the Joe's River Formation of Barbados.
It was recombined as Squaliolus schaubi by Underwood and Mitchell (2004), Underwood and Schlogl (2013).
