Taxonomy
Hipposideros omani was named by Sigé et al. (1994). Its type specimen is TQ 72, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taqah, which is in an Oligocene coastal marl in the Ashawq Formation of Oman.
