Taxonomy
Durania acuticostata was named by Caffau et al. (1995). It is not extant. Its type locality is Visogliano, Lower part of Zolla Member, Interval 6, which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Trieste Karst Limestone Formation of Italy.
