Taxonomy
Ogmocnemis was named by Kielan (1960). Its type is Ogmocnemis irregularis.

It was synonymized subjectively with Astroproetus by Whittington (1966); it was synonymized subjectively with Decoroproetus by Owens (1970), Jell and Adrain (2002).

It was assigned to Cornuproetinae by Owens (2004).
