Taxonomy
Leptaena kjerulfi was named by Holtedahl (1916). It is the type species of Kiaeromena, Kiaeromena (Kiaeromena).

It was recombined as Kiaeromena kjerulfi by Spjeldnaes (1957), Mitchell (1977); it was recombined as Kiaeromena (Kiaeromena) kjerulfi by Cocks (2005), Cocks (2010).
