Doryderma was named by Zittel (1878) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi K Camp Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lithistida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pleromatinae by Finks et al. (2004).
