Taxonomy
Junggaroblastus was named by Lane et al. (1997) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1247]. Its type is Junggaroblastus hoxtolgayensis.

It was assigned to Fissiculata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Phaenoschismatidae by Waters et al. (2020).
