Taxonomy
Orophocrinus was named by von Seebach (1865) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-u C Vise-u Sepkoski's reference number: 82,1246]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Orophocrinidae.

It was assigned to Orophocrinidae by Beaver et al. (1967); and to Fissiculata by Sepkoski (2002).
