Timoroblastus was named by Wanner (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon-u P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 2,82]. It is not extant. It was considered monophyletic by Wanner (1924).
It was assigned to Codasteridae by Bodenbender and Fisher (2001); to Fissiculata by Sepkoski (2002); to Phaenoschismatidae by Wanner (1924), Webster and Sevastopulo (2007); and to Neoschismatidae by Webster et al. (2025).
