Auloblastus was named by Beaver (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-u Sepkoski's reference number: 520]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Schizoblastidae by Beaver et al. (1967), Waters and Horowitz (1993); and to Spiraculata by Sepkoski (2002).
