Mesoblastus was named by Etheridge and Carpenter (1886) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-u C Vise-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2,520]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Granatocrinidae by Waters and Horowitz (1993), Lane et al. (2001); and to Spiraculata by Sepkoski (2002).
