Walencrinuroides rolfi was named by Moss and Westrop (2014) [= Encrinuroides cf. rarus (Walcott); Ludvigsen 1975 pl. 3,

= Encrinuroides rarus (Walcott) Ludvigsen 1979 p. 21, figs. 42–48.]. Its type specimen is UA 1372, a cephalon/head (Cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
